Great Interviews With Arthur Murray Dance Legends

Written by Chris Lynam | Feb 2, 2010 7:41:00 AM

You've seen them, but do you know them?

The goal, ever since the launch of the arthurmurraylive.com website, was to create a segment dedicated to getting to know Arthur Murray consultants.  Rather than just hearing about their dance credentials, learning who they are as people can help eliminate the mystery, and allow you to see their personality - instead of their technical skills.

Our Compilation

The following is a directory of consultant interviews and articles.  They are listed alphabetically by the first name of the coach.  We would like to thank each of them for making the time to be interviewed, or to write guest articles for our website.

Jon Clark

The man is a ninja. He doesn't carry himself with the center-of-attention bravado of a dance expert... but he is.  Like a ninja, when he chooses his spots, it's with surgical precision.

Lola Volair

With an unbelieveable wealth of knowledge, and University-level understanding of the human body - it's no wonder why Arthur Murray instructors refer to her as "Yoda".  There is always something to be learned on a lesson with Lola.  Keeping with that theme, we interviewed this North of the border consultant not once - but twice.

Steve Platt

This could easily be one of the busiest people in Arthur Murray, maybe even America.  Steve Platt is the organizer of one of the largest dance events in the company (The Unique Dance-O-Rama®), he's a co-organizer of the Hula-Rama (coming to Kauai in January 2016), owner of a large network of Arthur Murray locations in Southern California, and when he's not judging a competition, being a husband, father, or holding a training seminar - he finds a little time to head up the testing material for the Arthur Murray All Star program.  Whew! Busy!

Ron Christy

Very few people are as versatile as Ron Christy.  Having won competitions in everything from American Smooth to Country Western - he's in a league of his own. Interstingly enough, he's the last person to ever tell you about his dance accomplishments.  This passionate and talented coach puts the students first and that's why he's in such high demand across the country.

She used to set the world record for commute length when she'd travel from Greece and Australia to visit the Arthur Murray Bay Area schools.  These days, Tonia Kosovich is a California resident and a regular consultant in the Arthur Murray Live studios. As the long time dance coach of Chris and Daisey Lynam, Tonia has gone from distant dance relative, to immediate dance family.
