The Arthur Murray Holiday Ball Crosses a Milestone in 2016

This Friday, December 16th 2016, the Arthur Murray Holiday Ball will feature a red carpet, fancy clothes, and plenty of social dancing.

But this time it will be different.

The Holiday Ball will have a record number of guests for the dinner and dancing event - 300.  Not bad, considering this is the one Arthurmurraylive event that doesn't feature a single student costume, graduation, or freestyle.

It's all about Social Dancing, and celebrating the milestones for the Arthur Murray students and teachers that have helped guide the way.

In case you missed it, here are our 10 Favorite Reasons to Attend the Holiday Ball this year - that is, if you can still find a ticket.

The Origins of the Holiday Ball

Running multiple businesses, being a Mom, and giving birth in October makes Daisey Lynam a pretty busy person.  Since the birth of her daughter Evelyn, Daisey has been on a non-stop video conferencing training schedule with the Arthur Murray Live executives.

As busy as she is, however, the news of 300 participants stopped her cold in her tracks, which led to some insight into how special this truly is.

"When I first became the owner in Hayward, I remember we served dinner to our students in the back ballroom.  It was one studio, and the staff set each table, served the food, and we had stacks of dishes, no dishwasher, but we felt so good about what we did.

Deep down, I knew that eventually, this little dinner would become a grand event in the future.  I could see it so clearly.  A ballroom full of people.

So when Brienne sent me the message asking if we should add the extra tables, going beyond what we had planned for, I got emotional.  It was that image, or premonition, whatever you'd call it.  It was coming true - it was just a special moment for me."

Why This Milestone is Special

"I feel like we've accomplished something.  We've helped this many people to not only learn how to dance, but to feel confident enough to use what they've learned in an outside venue.   To me, it says we are doing our job.

I hope our students feel like this is their second chance at a formal event, a moment they can look back on forever, and one that they can enjoy now that they have dancing in their lives."
