10 Reasons To Attend the Arthur Murray Holiday Ball

The Arthur Murray Holiday Ball is the final event of the calendar year, but that's not the only reason to attend this social dancing event.

We compiled some of the best reasons to celebrate with the Arthur Murray Live team, and send 2016 out with a bang.

1.  This is a Social Dance Event

Repeat, this is a Social Dance Event!  That means that the majority of the evening is dedicated to putting your dance conversation skills to work with students and teachers from the studios around our network.

This also means you won't need to make any dance costume changes, unless you prefer different outfits as you transition from the salad, to the entree, and then dessert.

2.  A Holiday Party You Know

There's a constant unknown when it comes to your Holiday Office Parties, which can prompt an array of questions:

"will there be a dancing?", "will it seem weird if I bring my dance shoes?",  "Is Bachata off limits with my boss if she's married?"

At an Arthur Murray Holiday event, you know there will be dancing, everyone else will be bringing dance shoes, and Bachata, with the appropriate dance frame, is encouraged with anyone.

Holiday Ball is one of my favorite events of the year not only because we get to celebrate the years end with our students but also because the amount of love and laughter throughout the room is unmatched.

3. Get Dressed Up

This year, the theme is the Academy Awards - enough said.  So whether that means that you're coming in a suit, gown, or attempting a fashion statement in the spirit of Jennifer Lopez - this is the event.

There may, or may not, be paparazzi - so have your security on standby, and your wardrobe ready for the awards show public.

Holiday ball really is a unique event where it's one big celebration of the entire year all wrapped up in a night full of glamour. There's no pressure of performing or remembering what's next in your routine. I get to bust out my tux and enjoy a night of dancing with all my favorite people. Truly is my favorite event of the year

4. Dinner!

Once you've taken your reserved seat, socialized about the gorgeous decor and centerpieces, and tallied the people on your dance card - you'll be served a delicious meal by the top notch event staff at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Foster City.

5. Executive Showcase

Throughout the evening, you'll be treated to special professional demonstrations by the Arthur Murray Live Executive Team.  As champions of behind the scenes work, the Holiday Ball allows the students to enjoy the dance and performance skills of these hardworking individuals.

Holiday Ball is an awesome time to get together with your dance family and celebrate the end of the year together.

6.  No Hassle

We're not suggesting that you cancel all of your upcoming Holiday parties in favor of the Holiday Ball, but let's just say that you won't need to cook overnight, polish the fine china, or iron any fancy napkins for this event.

7.  It's the Practice Party... but Larger

The Practice Party is all about putting the dance skills you've learned to use in a supervised, active learning environment.  It's also a great way to meet other students and teachers who share the same hobby and dance studio as you.

If you've missed a few practice parties this year, think of the Holiday Ball as one, all inclusive, make up assignment.

Brienne Thompson

Arthur Murray Redwood City

"Last year’s Holiday ball was my favorite event for Redwood City.  It was our highest attended event ever - 49 students. Because there were so many people excited to attend the Holiday ball, it really changed the energy in the school, and it has continued going into this year's event."

8. Reunion

For those that may not know, each of the new studios in the area - Fremont, Millbrae, San Francisco and Stockton - have owners and staff that started in the Hayward, Redwood City, Livermore and Walnut Creek locations.

At the Holiday Ball, we get the entire band back together.

9.  Something Special

Whether it's an incredible performance, a special moment, or just the incredible decor - there always seems to be a special, signature moment at the Holiday Ball that makes the night a little more magical.

"It was my first year, and first Holiday Ball, and during our admin meeting Daisey made the announcement that the admin team was going to be performing at the event.

I was so freaked out!

We practiced, performed (I didn’t die), and it was really cool talking to all the students afterwards.  It was so great to be a part of the event and it was a nice surprise for everyone, including me."

10.  The Best Reason

The Holiday Ball is an event to commemorate your accomplishments at Arthur Murray this year.  Whether you just walked through the door three weeks ago, or you just graduated from the Gold Level - these accomplishments are the reason for the celebration.

The Holidays are an opportunity to connect with your friends, gather with family, and share with each other.  The Arthur Murray Holiday Ball is how you can do that with your dance family, and we'd hate for you to miss it.

There are still tickets available for this nearly sold out event.  Check with your studio about availability.
