Sergio Garcia:  Making a Big Move to Supervisor

In 2008, Arthur Murray Redwood City was being closed down.  After a lot of thought and discussion, Chris and Daisey Lynam agreed to step in and purchase the studio - one month after opening Arthur Murray Livermore.

The previous owner had one final request - to give her new hire, Sergio Garcia, a chance after the transition.

Fast forward to 2017 and that new hire has become one of the top instructors in the Arthur Murray organization.  Now that same instructor, who happened to get hired just as the business was closing, who stuck it out at just the right time, and who became an integral part of one of the greatest business success stories in the organization, is being promoted.

And, ironically, it's an opportunity in Arthur Murray Livermore.

Sergio Garcia, a long time member of the Arthur Murray Live leadership program, and dance director of Redwood City, is the new Supervisor of Arthur Murray Livermore.  Garcia joins up with co-Executive, and junior partner, Joey Sena to form a formidable tandem to help propel Livermore even further than their record finish in 2016.

While this move is a big promotion for Sergio, it doesn't come easy as he leaves his long time studio home in Redwood City.

"Redwood city is a school that will never give up and will take on any challenge. What started as an eight hour job for me has become a career. As a young kid not knowing what I was getting myself into, this school has taught me how to be a great teacher, a dance mentor, and a leader. I am thankful for the people who have helped me get to where I am today" says Garcia.

Final Notes

Sergio fills the role vacated by William Daily after he took on the same Supervisor role in Arthur Murray San Francisco.

Sergio's big picture goal is to one day become an Arthur Murray traveling consultant so he can share his passion for the company across the world.
