Arthur Murray Live At Hularama Day One

You can't attend an Arthur Murray Dance-O-Rama® without it.

The first day of a Dance-O-Rama® is an absolute must. Not only does it give the dancers traveling from far and wide a chance to unpack, and get over jet lag - there is always some type of fun activity to get the event started.

The Hularama just happens to be the best at it.

Arthur Murray Live At Hularama - Day 1

Wednesday afternoon in Kauai beats a Friday in most other places. It's majestic. A bar in a metropolitan city would shut down without a television, or loud music.  At the Grand Hyatt in Kauai, there is no TV in the bar. It's only been replaced with a 25 foot open air balcony view of the Pacific Ocean - oh yeah, and there are whales, dolphins, and it seems like they enjoy having their photos taken.

The location is breathtaking.  It makes one stop to think, "somewhere there's a regional salesperson checking into some hotel - that doesn't look like this - and the highlight of their day is having pretzels in the mini bar." Arthur Murray Dance Studio students and teachers have a, slightly, better view and list of options for enjoying themselves.

Here are some examples.

Here is a video capturing some of the fun moments of Day 1 at the Hularama

High Gear As The First Gear

To kick start the event, the Hularama featured student routines on Wednesday Night. The advantage: Do the thing you're most worried about on the first day. That way, every dance, meal, and luau feels better. The Arthur Murray Bay Area students, with many of them participating for the first time, did a wonderful job.

After unpacking, walking to the beach, or whale watching - the Arthur Murray students were treated to a Roaring 20's Party. There were zoot suits, flapper girls, and plenty of Charleston to go around. Not only did all 400 participants get a Charleston lesson, they had a "Charleston Dance Off" which made the beautiful ballroom sound more like a pep rally.

Organizing The Unexpected

As with many Hularama's, you can always count on some fun, incredible, unexpected thing to happen. This is thanks to the organizers of the event, Steve Platt and Russ Clark.  The pair are both responsible for some of the top Dance-O-Ramas® in the world, and for this event they join forces.

Fun, incredible, and unexpected things happen when they join forces.

They could put the expression, "Expect the Unexpected" on the Hularama brochure and it would fit this event perfectly.
