Confucius said, “choose a job that you love, and you'll never work a day in your life.” I am here to say that I believe Confucius may have been an Arthur Murray Dance instructor.

  • Your hobby is also your profession
  • Your wardrobe will get an upgrade.
  • People at work are happy to see you - can’t say that in many other places.
  • You will never be asked to sit at a cubicle… like, ever.
  • Your job strengthens your body, your mind, and your communications skills.
  • Oh, and you get to dance every day.

It’s cool to be an Arthur Murray Dance Teacher: Unexpected Things

  • That moment you realize you helped create a permanent moment at someone’s wedding.
  • Helping people transform in their dancing, and confidence around others.
  • Doing something that makes a positive impact in people feels really good.
  • Lightbulbs! When a student makes a breakthrough it’s one of the best feelings in the world.
  • Your co-workers are your family.
  • You will be surrounded by students that will teach you so much more than they’ll ever realize.

Maybe Confucius wasn’t a legendary teacher for Arthur Murray, but his quote is a constant reminder of what it feels like to work as an Arthur Murray professional.

Final Thought

For Arthur Murray Teachers, dancing is their hobby, but teaching is their profession.  There have been many students over the years that are surprised that Arthur Murray is their teacher's "real job".  It should, however, come as no surprise that because of that fact, the quality and dedication to the students is so high. There are countless people that love dancing, but it truly takes a special individual to love teaching dancing to others.

How about a digital round of applause for all of the fantastic Arthur Murray instructors out there.
