Merengue

The merengue is a rhythmic, African adaptation of the French Minuet, a ballroom dance popular in the early 1800s. This easy-to-learn Latin dance is performed to four beat music, the most common Latin beat.

The Merengue is a great, high energy, dance that gives dancers a chance to use turns and wraps from all of the other popular Latin dances. Today, the dance is featured at least half the time in music played at Salsa nightclubs.

First introduced to the U.S. in New York City, Merengue became more popular than salsa during the 1980s. Today it's still enjoyed by Latin dancers all over the world. This fast-paced, vibrant dance is a fun one to perform with a partner at your next social gathering.

I went to the introductory free lesson and loved it. The staff is very encouraging. I take a private lesson at least 2 times a week. It is a skill I had always wanted to learn but never had the time. Why just "dance with the stars" when you can become a star? This is a great dance studio to learn ballroom dancing. For beginners to advance, you can always learn more. The classes are fun and fresh. It's a great way to share the love of dance with others. The instructors are great. We all learn at our own speed, but they push us to be better. You never knew how two left feet could move so well. My fiance and I went to Arthur Murray to get some much needed help with choreography for the first dance at our wedding. After having a very weird experience with a dinosaur of a dance instructor from another local dance studio, I went to prescreen Arthur Murray before subjecting my better half to more lessons.
